DENTAL TECHNICIAN

 

 

 

 

The dental technicians through four years schooling receive an education on general and vocational subjects as well as practical skills to work out:

  • Total and partial acrilate dentures
  • Removable dentures
  • One piece cast prosthetic constructions with synthetic substances
  • Inlays, onlays, and cast restorations
  • Solo crown of metal ceramic (aesthetic crowns)
  • Cares for instruments and apparatus maintenance
  • Do administration tasks

Practical education starts in the second year and is performed in adequate laboratories equipped with instruments and apparatus required to produce dental prosthetics appliances.

A vocational practical training is foreseen, and performed in institutions of dental activity.

Vocational training is obligatory after finishing the second and third year, during the summer period. It is carried out in health institutions, lasts for 100 working hours within 20 working days. Students neatly keep diaries, describing their work that is foreseen by a programme.

Possibilities for employment

A dental technician is capable to perform all tasks in dental laboratories within dentist’s offices and clinics, branches producing and trading dental instruments and materials.

The job requires responsibility, a lot of knowledge, skilled hands, independence, concentration and attention.

 

 

 

NURSES

 

 

 

The medical nurse through four years schooling receives an education on general and vocational subjects as well as practical skills to:

  • Provide adequate care
  • Assist at medical treatments
  • Carry out vaccination when it is required
  • Measure and register vital signs
  • Take biological material for diagnostics
  • Apply medicaments (intra muscular injection, intradermol, intravenous) when required
  • Sterilize and disinfect the instruments and materials
  • Organize and participates in health education
  • Do administration tasks

Practical education starts in the second year and is performed in school rooms specially equipped with adequate medical appliances, as well as in public health facilities. Students also get vocational training which is obligatory after finishing the second and third year. It lasts for 100 working hours within 20 working days. During this vocational training students keep diaries describing their work foreseen by the programme.

Possibilities for employment

The medical nurse can perform all tasks of health care required in all tasks of health facilities (clinics, out-patient departments, and hospitals), humanitarian organizations, diagnostic laboratories.

PHARMACEUTICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

 

 

 

Pharmaceutical laboratory technicians through four years schooling receive an education on general and vocational subjects as well as practical skills to:

  • Handle with laboratory devices and apparatus
  • Produce medicines and cosmetics
  • Give advices when administer cosmetics, medicinal teas
  • Receive, keep and use medicinal substances and medicines
  • Identify and define the purity and other characteristics of medicinal substances
  • Fill specimens for analysis
  • Prepare reagents and specimens for analysis
  • Assist in producing major preparations
  • Pack, maintain and store medical materials, remedies, medicinal substances and medicinal herbs as required
  • Collect medicinal herbs as required

Practical education starts in the second year, and is performed in adequate laboratories and cabinets equipped with instruments and apparatus needed for preparing galenical products.

Vocational training is obligatory after finishing the second and third year and is performed during the summer holiday in health facilities. The duration of this training is 100 working hours within a period of 20 working days. Students neatly keep diaries with short description of the work foreseen by a programme.

Possibilities for employment

The pharmaceutical laboratory technician could work in various health facilities, galenical laboratories, pharmaceutical industry, associations treading with medicines and herbs.

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

 

 

 

The medical laboratory technicians through four years schooling receive an education on general and vocational subjects, as well as practical skills to:

  • Get, identify and prepare biological materials individually
  • Work out analysis when required
  • Register the results of the analysis
  • Take capillary and vain blood for routine analysis
  • Plant microbiological basis
  • Remove and destroy contaminated material
  • Make sterilization and disinfection
  • Take care and be familiar with basic instruments and apparatus

Practical education starts in the second year and is performed at the school in adequate laboratories and cabinets equipped with necessary instruments and apparatus. But also students have practice in biochemical laboratories at the clinic centre of the Faculty of Medicine, the Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology as well as in the Republic and City institute for health protection.

Vocational training is obligatory after finishing the second and third year during the summer period. It lasts for 100 working hours within 20 working days. Students keep diaries describing their work foreseen by the programme.

Laboratory technician carry out working tasks in all kinds of health organizations dealing with primary, secondary and tercial health care, in diagnostic laboratories, institutions.
